Statement of Faith

 

The Bible

We believe in the authority and sufficiency of the Bible, God's Holy Word.  We believe it to be fully and verbally inspired (God-breathed) by God.  2 Timothy 3:15-17

 

God

We believe that there is one true God, Creator of all things.  He is all-knowing, all-powerful and all-present, never changing.   Genesis 1:1,

Isaiah 46:9-10

 

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God.  Genesis 1:27

We believe that all people are sinners by an inherent nature and by choice.  Romans 3:23

We believe that it is only through God's saving work in Jesus Christ that man can be rescued, reconciled and renewed.  Romans 6:23

 

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal son of God, who took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  We believe He lived a sinless life, yet retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man.  John 1:14, 2 Corinthians 5:21

We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as the sacrificial atonement for our sin; that He was buried, rose again, and is our merciful, living Savior.  John 3:16, I Corinthians 15:3, I John 4:10, I Peter 2:24

We believe that salvation is the Gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ and not by the works of man.  Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 6:23

We believe in the personal and glorious return of Jesus Christ, at a time known only to God, the "Blessed Hope" of His Church.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Promise of God, the Comforter who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ, who guides us in Truth, bestows spiritual gifts upon the Church and convicts the world of sin.  John 16:8-13, Ephesians 1:13,14
